Next Gen Winter Fest

Housekeeping note

Fri, 14 Apr 2017 10:13:18 GMT

Posted by: nextgenmas_mods

Hello everyone!

We're in the process of tidying up things here on the dreamwidth side, and are in the process of importing all entries from LJ. We have moved all the art hosting to dreamwidth and will be replacing the art links in the imported entries as soon as possible. Dreamwidth is busy so it'll be a few days before everything is in place.

Those of you who have used the LJ hosted images when reposting your work elsewhere are welcome to continue to use that hosting as we won't be deleting the LJ community. If you want to switch hosting, you might want to find your own as dreamwidth image hosting only works on-site; that is to say, dreamwidth hosted images will not work on e.g. AO3.

concerning the new TOS & the future of this fest

Sat, 08 Apr 2017 16:29:00 GMT

Posted by: nerakrose

Hello, everyone!

As all fest entries are mirrored on dreamwidth, HERE, the contents of this fest should be safe. We will be moving the hosting of the fanart to dreamwidth, and will update the links on the dreamwidth mirror, within the next week.

You'll notice that this message does not come from the mod account (next_mas_mods), this is because I am hoping that by not signing into the mod account and thus not accepting the new TOS will keep this community safe. If not...find us on dreamwidth :'D

In short: this fest will no longer be active on livejournal.

I was tentatively planning on bringing this fest back for a 2017 round, but haven't made any final decisions yet. In the event of a renaissance (resurrection? Reanimation?) this will take place on dreamwidth, so check the dreamwidth mirror for news.

Hello everyone!

We just wanted to let you know that nextgen_mas is going on hiatus and won't return this year. It's been an awesome two years so far and we're sad to make this decision, but we frankly don't know when this fest will return so can't make promises at this point in time.

2012 Masterlist

Tue, 11 Dec 2012 20:38:00 GMT

Posted by: next-mas-mods.livejournal.com

This was it for this year's posting. Below you'll find the masterlist of all works posted to the fest this year. Reveals will be up during the weekend, so you have plenty of time to catch up. If you've already read/listened to/looked at everything, we might be able to tempt you with last year's masterlist while waiting for reveals.

ETA: We've pushed the reveals back a bit. Reveals will be up during next weekend instead of the upcoming weekend.

( Masterlist )

Lastly, we want to thank everyone who participated. This fest wouldn't have had a second run without you. You are all fabulous. <3

Dear people following nextgen_mas

Tue, 11 Dec 2012 20:36:00 GMT

Posted by: next-mas-mods.livejournal.com

We are so sorry for the mistakes in posting that happened today and in wrapping up the fest prematurely. There was an error when copying names over to the posting schedule and list of completed submissions and we missed it. As a result we accidentally missed posting two of the submissions when we were supposed to. Please believe us when we say that we are incredibly sorry for the mix up and that we certainly didn't mean to exclude anyone's work from the fest.

An updated master list will be posted shortly.

Thank you for your understanding,

The Mods

Title: Complicated Magic
Author: traintracks
Prompt Number: 61 – "No matter how many men Teddy dates, none of them can compare to his first crush, Harry Potter." by sdkshelly
Rating: NC-17
Pairing/characters: Harry/Teddy, Teddy/OMCs, (Harry/Ginny [past], mentions of Ginny/Dean and Hermione/Ron, past Sirius/Harry UST if you squint), James Sirius, Albus Severus, Lily Luna, OMC
Warnings/content: Highlight to read: very mild and brief bondage, mild pain kink, mild jealousy, sexual promiscuity, bad housekeeping and a terrible Christmas chicken
Word count: 14,600
Summary: What happens when a hopelessly infatuated Teddy Lupin and a newly-single Harry Potter collide over Christmas?
Notes: I sort of loosely interpreted the word "dates" in the prompt as "f$#&s". I hope that's all right. Huge thanks to [Wonderful Person] for the non-stop cheerleading and kickass beta, and also [Awesome Person] who gave some invaluable advice. All remaining mistakes are mine. Happy Christmas, sdkshelly; if you enjoy reading this half as much as I enjoyed writing it for you, I'll consider myself a resounding success.

FIC: Hickory, Dickory, Dock!, Molly/Lucy, Roxanne/Dominique, R

Sun, 09 Dec 2012 11:41:00 GMT

Posted by: next-mas-mods.livejournal.com

Title: Hickory, Dickory, Dock!
Author: hamimifk
Prompt Number: #250
Rating: R
Pairing/characters: Molly/Lucy, Roxanne/Dominique | Roxanne, Molly, Lucy, Dominique, Lily Luna, Rose, Victoire
Warnings/content: Highlight to read *Femslash, incest, voyeurism, sneaky cousins in the middle of the night, playful banter/teasing, mischievous!Roxanne, non-explicit sexual content between a 16 and a 17-year-old, and mention of unusual sexual practices xD*
Word count: 4,373
Summary: The next gen girls spend New Year's together. Cue shenanigans, secrets, and playful banter!
Notes: I just ran off with this prompt somewhere far, far away. The girls just kept bantering each other in my head so I just kept writing. They pretty much pwned me and took my secret kinks and headcanons and painted the town with them. So much shame on my behalf (but not really, hee). In case things get confusing (because I think they will), the girl's ages are as follow: Lily = 10, Rose = 13, Dominique = 15, Lucy and Roxanne = 16, Molly = 17, and Victoire = 19 (And alas, the title is random. Rubbish that I picked to get back at the next gen girls for getting the better of me. That'll show them... HA!)
